Learning Path

A suggested week-by-week reading plan for new starters. Don't try to absorb everything at once — follow this progression and build on each week.

Week 1: Foundations

Goal: Understand what RaaS is, who your team is, and get all your access sorted.

  3. Complete the Access Checklist
  4. Read Key Terminology — bookmark this, you'll refer back to it
  5. Read Standard RaaS Architecture

Week 2: Architecture & HSCN

Goal: Understand the infrastructure that runs Rhapsody and how UK customers connect.

  1. Read HSCN RaaS Architecture
  2. Read Networking (CIDR, subnets, VPN routes)
  3. Read AWS Account Structure
  4. Read UK HSCN Overview
  5. Read UK HSCN Customers
  6. Shadow a senior engineer on a routine HSCN VPN check

Week 3: Monitoring & Incident Response

Goal: Know how to spot problems and respond to alerts.

  1. Read Coralogix — log in and explore the dashboards
  2. Read PagerDuty — check you're on the schedule
  3. Read Common Alerts
  4. Read Incident Response
  5. Read through one Incident History post-mortem
  6. Read Certificate Dashboard

Week 4: Operations & Deployment

Goal: Understand how we deploy changes and maintain the platform.

  1. Read Maintenance
  2. Read Deployment
  3. Read Ansible Tower
  4. Read VPN Operations
  5. Shadow a deployment or maintenance window

Week 5: Deep Dives

Goal: Fill in the gaps and start handling tasks independently.

  1. Read Customer Onboarding Overview
  2. Read Terraform
  3. Read Customer Configs
  4. Read IP Whitelisting — highest-volume daily task
  5. Read Firewall Rules
